Privacy Policy

Kept is a personal place-memory app. This policy explains what information Kept collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information you provide

• Account information, such as your email address and the name supplied by Apple or Google when you choose those sign-in methods.
• Content you save, including photos, place details, notes, ratings, collections, profile details, and your privacy choices.
• Messages you send when contacting support.

Information used by the app

With your permission, Kept may use your camera, photo library, and location to help you capture a moment and identify the place connected with it. Location is used for the feature you request and is not sold. Device and diagnostic information may be processed as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

How information is used

We use information to provide and synchronize your account, organize saved places, resolve place details, generate requested descriptions or suggestions, support sharing and privacy controls, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising.

Service providers

Kept relies on service providers that process limited information on our behalf: Supabase for authentication, database, and storage; Apple and Google for sign-in; Google Places for place information; OpenAI for requested content assistance; and infrastructure providers used to host Kept’s website and services. Their handling of information is governed by their own terms and our agreements with them.

Sharing and visibility

Kept is designed to let you control whether supported profile and collection information is private or shared. Content may also be disclosed when you direct us to share it, when required by law, or when necessary to protect users, Kept, or the public.

Retention and deletion

We keep account information and saved content while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to operate the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You can delete your account from the Profile screen in the Kept app. Account deletion removes your account and associated Kept content from active systems, subject to limited backup, security, and legal retention periods.

Your choices

You can change camera, photo, and location permissions in iOS Settings; update supported privacy controls in Kept; sign out at any time; or delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information.

Children

Kept is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no service can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed in countries other than your own, subject to applicable safeguards.
